OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please read all instructions and warnings carefully before using the respirator.

1. Usages and Characteristics

The product (PRF102H) is a long hose powered air purifying respirator (refer to Fig 1)，filtrating precision 0.3μm，filtrating efficiency99.97%，integrating respiratory, skin and eye protection, which is light in weight, easy in operation, well sealed, with fine filtering precision, high air flow supply, adjustable air flow, clockwise regulating high flow and anti-clockwise regulating low flow, satisfactory positive pressure, and durable in life. The respirator allows people to work easily and pleasantly in conditions with exceed concentrations and/or hazard compound. Therefore this product is the best choice to provide protection from occupation diseases.

The long hose powered air purifying respirator is combined with the main body, long hose, full mask. There are many kinds of Open air supply hoods and airtight full mask for customer’s choices. If a open air supply hood is used, 10m, 15 m, and 20m long hose are applicable. If the environment is anoxic (i.e. oxygen content less than 18%) and or explosive operating conditions, or IDLH concentration (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health), an airtight full mask should be used with the long hose to supply air flow. The purpose of wearing a airtight full mask is that once the respirator is out of service, the full mask can be used as a normal negative pressure respirator allows the operator to escape. The length of the long hose can be 40m.

2. Applicable Scope

2.1 Various metal or other mineral mining.

2.2 Ore crushing/sifting and transportation in metallurgy.

2.3 Sand molding, cast sand removing/spraying in mechanical manufacture

2.4 In building material manufacture, such as mining for the production of refractory materials, glass, cement, and stones; and mining & transportation of asbestos, inclusive of breaking up, milling, sifting, and blending.

2.5 Pharmacy, chemical plant and the laboratory with environments of dust and harm.

2.6 Preventing respiratory infection and germ or virus.

2.7 Channel caving and explosive operation in building roads, railways, and water conservatory and/or water power facilities.

2.8 If there is 102G ,102W filter in it this product can be used in the condition that acidic gas, alkaline gas, neutral gas, organic gas coexist.

In sum, this product is adaptive to various dusty and/or harmful operating conditions, inclusive of preventing from various particles (dust, fog, smoke and the like) and many kinds of poisonous and harmful ill odors.

3. Structure

3.1 Main body of PRF-102R has many choices of filters. Those are 102D,102HD and so on (refer to 6.2).

3.2 This product has many kinds of air supply hoods and 2 kinds of airtight full mask (refer to 6.2).

A2 air-supply helmet, M1 air-supply hood, M2 air-supply hood, M3 air-supply hood, PS1 blasting hood, M4 and M5 airtight full mask(refer to 6.4).

4. Installation

This is of great importance.

Rotate the adapter connector with screw thread of the breath long hose to the air-supply hood or full mask clockwise tight and plug the side with steel needle of the breath hose into the intake of the main body. It must be locked tight (refer to fig 1).

5. Using methods

5.1 The power supply methods for long hose powered air purifying respirator can be DC or AC.A adaptor can be used to change the AC 100-240V into DC12V without limited working hours. And a lithium battery （11.1V DC，4800mAh） can be used as the power supply for the main body. It can guarantee 6 hours consecutive operation following fully charged. Using 12V power from a car through a vehicle connecting line can also supply power for the main body. (Plug one side of the connecting line in car lighter socket, the other side into the main body socket. The main body must be kept outside of the car). While using, main body should be far away from working area.

If an adaptor is used, plug one side of the adaptor in the 110V and 220V power plug. The connection must be tight. rotate the knot on the main body to adjust the air flow to suitable for work. An electronic warning system is installed in the main body. When the battery power appears low, electronic warning system will buzz, then the batteries need to be changed accordingly.

5.2 Cautions

5.2.1 Before using the operator of the long hose respirator must be trained and check whether the respirator can work normally when powered on and then check the hood or full mask especially.

Check whether the full mask is cracking, tearing or dirty; whether the airtight parts are out of shape. The material should be soft but not rigid. Intake valve should be in good condition without dust or cracking and mask belt in good spring condition, change it if necessary. Make sure all the plastic parts are not cracking; especially the airtight pad without dust, cracking, tearing. After checking, tightly close the breathing valve cap.

Wearing a full mask, operator should firstly shave whiskers and beard, clockwise rotation tight the side with screw thread of the long hose into inlet access of breathing mask, try to loose up the headband, to cover the back of head with the headband, fully cover the face with mask; adjust the tension of headband tight to ensure the tightness of the full mask and faces. Adjust the neck strap, and then adjust the straps before head. Do not pull the straps too tight, cover the breathing hose intake (with needle interface) with palm, breath gently, then operator should feel the mask concave and close to the face, while should not feel the air leaking in between face and mask.

Before the product is put into use, the battery must be charged up. In duration of operation, it is prohibited to short connect the product or put it into fire. The battery must be recharged up if it doesn’t work for at least two months. The main body（battery is charged up）can work for 8 hours continuously. If it works for more than 6 hours, standby battery must be prepared.

5.2.2 Put on the breathing hood, put long hose into a lock ring on the waistband, switch on the power and access to workplace until feeling comfortable while breathing. If several people use long hose respirators at the same time, pay attention to keep the distances and directions to avoid hindrance of long hoses each other by accident.

5.2.3 There may be a tiny gap in the sections between head cover and face or neck if wearing an open air supply hood. Please do not worry about it. Because it remains positive pressure within the facial mask, outside dust particles and gases could not get in. If the gap is a little big, please adjust the clamp in the neck of the hood to the comfortable size, as to make sure positive pressure.

5.2.4 protect long breathing hose properly in using from trampled, friction with the rough material, punctured, scratching by touching sharp or aculeate things. If the long hose accidentally comes into contact with corrosive media, immediately wash it with clean water, wipe it dry. If the long hose is damaged, replace immediately.

5.2.5 Recommend cleaning hood or full mask after each use. The hood can be washed, but should avoid bruising the lens. Check the components of the full mask, especially breathing valve and valve seat, if worn or damaged, replace a new one.

5.2.6 After using the product must be taken away from the workplace and kept after cleaning and the battery should be fully charged.

5.2.7 If operator feels air supply is not enough, can not breathe normally or some other uncomfortable cases, the operator should get out of working area immediately. If respirator is far from working spot, operator works in abominable conditions with long breathing hose, there should be a person specially assigned for warding. Warding person must communicate with the operators to confirm whether powered respirator is in order. If suddenness happens (powered respirator doesn’t work), operator must be rescued immediately to insure safety.

5.2.8 The main body of the long hose powered air purifying respirator is always far away from working area. If there is not thick hazard gas around the main body, type 102HD filter with lower wind resistance and high particulate filtrating efficiency can be used to purify the air. Otherwise, type 102W with high efficiency of dustproof and gas proof filter should be used.

5.3 Replacing filters and gaskets

5.3.1 For 102HD high efficiency particulate filters：Filter changing is necessary when you feel less or no fresh air gets in even with enough power supply from the battery, resulting from the fact that the filter may have been filled with fine particles in such case. Take out the filter and knock the windward side and much dust could be knocked out. Use the soft dry cloth or paper to wipe the filter. Put the filter into main body thus it can continue to work. After used time after time the filter may be full of dust, a new filter should be needed.

5.3.2 For 102W high efficiency dust and gas proof filter：for dustproof, the way of changing filter is the same as above (refer to 5.3a)；For gas proof, it depends on whether feel the ill odors. If the ill odors or swirl, naupathia are felt that is to say filter box 102W is saturated. It lost the ability to filtrate the poison and should be changed.

5.3.3If dust around the filter drops into the main body case while changing filters please clean the main body case or it may affect the dust proof efficiency. After changing the filter, tightly close the back cap in main body.

5.3.4 Before using, the main body and filter case should be new or cleaned. If there is still dust or ill odors from the breathing tube, it’s possible that the gasket inside main body is out of spring as long time using. Please change new ones to insure airtight ability of the respirator.

5.3.5 The filter 102HD, 102W shall not be exposed to water or moisture. If any, please change timely.

5.4 Recharging

5.4.1 When you feel much less or even no air get in with a new filter or a filter before the expiration date, when the battery energy is low, electronic warning system will buzz, then the batteries need to be changed or recharged accordingly.

5.4.2 Open the cap in the back of the main body, and take out the bettery on which you can find a aperture in the battery compartment, and it is for power supply or recharging use.

5.4.3 Connect the charger to 100 ~ 240V alternative current power supply, insert the charger plug into the aperture in the battery compartment (socket)and and the charging is in progress.

5.4.4 When the charger begins, the indicator will turn red indicating the initiation of charging and then turn green indicating the completion of recharging.

5.4.5 With first use, more than 8hrs charge is needed and with routine use thereafter, 6hrs charging is enough. The intelligent recharger may avoid batter damage resulting from overcharge.

6, Main Parts and Parameters

6.1Electrically motivated blower fan (space fan DC brushless，specifications Φ 120mm H32mm，Voltage 12V DC, Power >15W，Noise <55dB, Life >50000hrs，revolutions of fan >3500 Rev/Min. The rated minimum air flow >600L/Min. Air flow at the end of 10m long hose after filter >200L/Min；Air flow at the end of 15m long hose after filter >170L/Min; Air flow at the end of 20m long hose after filter >160L/Min; Air flow at the end of 30m long hose after filter >120L/Min.

6.2 Specifications of Filter（102HD,102W）filtrating precision 0.3μm，dust resistance rate >99.97%, life of filter airtight preserved is 3 years. The conserved environment must be dry, ventilating, without acid or alkali or impregnant and such polluted matters.

6.2.1 102HD high efficiency particulate filter is applicable to various grain like materials（dust, fog, smoke and so on）and not excessive gas odor. Together with 38mm thick HEPA , the filter has filter precision 0.3μm and huge capability to filtrate the dust and it can sieve all kinds of dust , germ, virus and low concentration ill odors. Time of work can be various according to the work environment: 102HD almost 5 months.

6.2.2 102W high efficiency dust and gas filter is applicable to various grain like material（dust, fog, smoke and so on）and many kinds of poisonous and harmful ill odors. Together with Φ100mmX20mmHEPA and 20mm thick (weight about 130g) high efficiency catalyzed active fiber charcoal inside that can sieve all kinds of dust , germ , virus and high concentration poisonous and harmful odors. For dustproof, performance is the same as 102HD（refer to 6.2.1）. Dustproof time is a little shorter than 102HD. For gas proof, this filter can filtrate acidic gas, alkaline gas, neutral gas and organic gas synchronously. The overall effect of filtrating poison is perfect. This characteristic surmounts the normal active carton and materials. Time of work can be various according to the work environment. When feel ill odors that are to say the life of 102W filter is ending. It must be changed. The wind resistance of 102W is bigger 102HD, after installed into the respirator air supply might be smaller.

6.3 Breath hose: Φ38mm，L 1-30m, light in weight（PU）material, durable, airtight, and airproof with good ductility. Air flow can thrill through freely even bend 360°. Air flow at the end of 10m long hose after filter >200L/Min；air flow at the end of 15m long hose after filter >170L/Min; air flow at the end of 20m long hose after filter >160L/Min; air flow at the end of 30m long hose after filter >120L/Min; air flow at the end of 30m long hose after filter >120L/Min.

6.4 Air Supply Hood：

6.4.1 A2 air-supply helmet：

A2 air-supply mask and any safety helmet on sell arranged in pairs compose an air-supply helmet with high transparency and concussion PC glass pieces and airproof face area, weighting 650g.

6.4.2 M1 air-supply hood is made of PVC compound material with a simply hood （a breath tube inside）and airproof head and face area, no shawl, weighting 200g.

6.4.3 M2 air-supply hood is made of PVC compound material with a hood (a breath tube inside) and shawl integration and airproof head and face area with high transparency and concussion PC glass pieces, weighting 280ｇ.

6.4.4 M3 air-supply hood is made of PVC complex material with a hood (a breath tube inside) and shawl integration and airproof neck area with high transparency and concussion PC glass pieces, weighting 300ｇ.

6.4.5 M4 full mask is made of rubber with large vision and face design which enables the mouth and nose double sealed in six points, applicable to various features, just weighting 500g.

6.4.6 M5 full mask is made of silica gel in procession of PC glass pieces with fog proof design in both sides, large vision and face design enabled the mouth and nose double sealed in four points, applicable to various features, just weighting 300g.

6.4.7 PS1 sandblasting hood: unique design with a PE mask out the hood having anti-sand concussion. The mask provides a wide window, easily changed glass pieces. A breathing tube inside hood, with special air flow design that can provide fog proof design in both sides and head and face protection, adjustable headband, comfortable and safe in wearing. Weight: 650g.

6.4.8 PS2 sandblasting hood: unique design suit and hood integration with a PE mask out the hood having anti-sand concussion. The mask provides a wide window, easily changed glass pieces. A breathing tube inside hood, with special air flow design that can provide fog proof design in both sides and the whole body protection, adjustable headband, comfortable and safe in wearing. Weight: 800g.

6.5 Battery is polymer lithium battery type, no memory effect，11.1V DC voltage，4800mAh capacity, more than 500 cycle life and it must be used together with the special charger. After fully charged, it can supply power for respirator 6 hours in consecutive operation.

6.6 Charger is intelligent type，100-240V AC 50/60HZ input, 12.6V DC 1000mA output, freely charged without worrying about overcharge’s affection upon the battery life）

6.7 Adaptor (Power supply): Input: 100—240V AC 50/60Hz; Output: 12V DC 1.25A.

Through the adaptor the 100-240V AC (Alternating Current) can be changed into 12V DC(direct current) to supply the power for the respirator. The operating time is not limited.

6.8 Airflow indicator is made of PC material. Press the power switch, and then plug the end of the airflow indicator into the end of the breathing tube. While the air flow enters the indicator, the bobber in the indicator will float up, which indicates that it’s positive pressure now and the respirator can be used normally. Otherwise, the respirator is forbidden to be used. The reasons might be lacking power or filter’s resistance. Please check the filters and the electricity quantity of the battery and clean or change filters and recharge the battery timely

6.9 Hood PC glass pieces with fog proof design in both sides with high transparency>90% and concussion.

6.10 PRF-102H Respirator weights 1500g.

7. Guarantee

If the main body does not work, please pull out the connecting line between the battery and the main body and plug in again. Restart the respirator, if it still does not work, please change a new connecting line to try again. Without intended damage, this product will be guaranteed as follows: 1 (one) year of maintenance with main body, 1/2 (half) year of maintenance with adaptor, Polymer Li-ion battery unit and charger.
